Knox County should seize the opportunity to reap the benefits of Tennessee’s triumph in the federal Race to the Top educational funding initiative. State Sen. Jamie Woodson and Knox County Schools Superintendent Jim McIntyre recently announced an effort to use some of the funding for a new high school focusing on science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
