Certainly! Try: http://www.tnscore.org/feed/

Also, you can sign up to receive these headlines in a daily email. The sign-up for that is here: http://tnscore.us1.list-manage.com/subscribe?u=7abb45d10107192882b10a276&id=1fcb7871c9

Finally, we are in the process of integrating our new blog (The SCORE Sheet) with this site. When that happens, we will probably discontinue this feed. You can subscribe to our new blog's RSS feed (which includes the daily headlines) here: http://thescoresheet.org/feed/

Feel free to send me an email if you have any issues: price@tennesseescore.org

I think we knew this would happen when teachers lost their rights to bargain collectively, didn't we? These cuts and laws are not about improving education and student achievement. The main purpose is to drain public education and set up "for profit" schools or charter schools. These schools do not have to take the same tests or meet the same standards. In many cases, the teachers don't even have to be licensed. What this will do is leave the very poor in public education with little resources. Professional teacher organizations fought for good teachers, qualifty professional development, and an excellent public education for all students, regardless of their socio-economic status. I see the new collaboratives geared toward administrators, some rural teachers, but not all teachers. They are the specialists, ask them for their opinions. You may not want to hear it, but they have ideas on how to improve the system and help students. Cutting education should be the last thing to do now. We need to pull our money from war and bring the money home where we need it.
