Research shows that great teaching is the most important school-based factor in improving student achievement.¹ To support effective teaching, Tennessee is in Year 1 of implementing a new teacher evaluation system. Critical to the success of the evaluation is a clear opportunity for input from educators and education stakeholders to inform potential improvements.

To support this implementation work, SCORE has been asked by Governor Bill Haslam to lead an independent statewide listening and feedback process on the evaluation. The process will gather feedback and input from a wide range of voices, particularly from educators. SCORE will gather feedback on challenges and concerns, identify what is working well, and report back to the state Board of Education and Department of Education in June. SCORE’s role is to listen. We look forward to hearing from you!
